Classic Center-Post Umbrella
The Classic center-post umbrella offers timeless elegance with practical, user-friendly features. Available in multiple sizes—from cozy personal umbrellas to expansive canopies perfect for large patios—this style features a strong central pole and sturdy ribs for reliable shade coverage. The telescoping mechanism allows the umbrella to close effortlessly over furniture, making it ideal for dining areas or seating arrangements.

Cantilever Umbrella
Our cantilever umbrella provides an upscale solution where maximum open space beneath the canopy is desired. The canopies are stretched taut on integrated support spokes so that the fabric won’t sag or flap; spring-loaded locking handles keep the canopy tensioned and stable even in breezy conditions. In fact, these umbrellas are designed to withstand wind loads far beyond a typical store-bought patio umbrella. Depending on the model and installation, they are wind-rated up to roughly 31 mph before having to close them and include substantial wind warranties for peace of mind.

Fabric Options
The fabric canopy is one of the most important aspects of an umbrella, and our exclusive umbrella canopy fabric is designed to withstand intense sun, rain and wind without fading or leaking. It offers outstanding UV protection (UPF 50+), blocking over 98% of harmful UV rays so you can relax outside safely even in peak sun. The material is solution-dyed and coated, giving it excellent colorfastness – your umbrella’s color will stay rich and vibrant for many years with minimal fading. The canopy is also 100% waterproof, thanks to a specialized coating that prevents moisture penetration so during a surprise summer shower, water simply beads off the surface, and the fabric dries quickly afterwards.
Goodwin-Cole umbrellas come in a wide selection of fabric colors, patterns, and even textures to complement your home. You can choose from dozens of contemporary colors – from timeless neutrals to vibrant hues – as well as classic stripes in some models. Additionally, you have the option of adding a valance (the fabric trim that hangs from the edge of the canopy) on certain models for a more traditional look, or you can opt for a valance-free modern style.

Mounting Options
Proper installation is key to the performance of a large umbrella, so Goodwin-Cole provides flexible mounting options to suit your need – whether you need a permanent fixture or the ability to move the umbrella around. We will ensure your umbrella is safely and securely mounted for optimal stability.
In-Ground Anchor
For the ultimate stability, we can install an in-ground steel anchor sleeve that is set in concrete below your patio. The umbrella’s pole fits into this sleeve and is secured with locking hardware. Our standard in-ground mount includes a tilting hinge at the base, which allows you to tilt or lay the umbrella down for maintenance or storage without removing the entire anchor. An in-ground installation is flush to the ground (nothing to trip over) and extremely secure – ideal if you have a dedicated spot for your umbrella.
Surface Mount Plate
This heavy, flat steel base plate bolts onto an existing concrete pad or deck, providing a stable platform for the umbrella. Our surface mounts are low-profile (usually a square plate about 24″ across) and powder-coated to match the umbrella. They include the same tilting hinge mechanism and sleeve to hold the umbrella’s center pole. Once bolted down, the plate mount offers near-permanent strength – a great solution for decks, courtyards, or anywhere you can anchor into a solid surface.
Freestanding Mobile Base
When you need flexibility in placement, or if you can’t permanently attach the umbrella, we offer mobile base solutions. These are weight-based stands (often steel frames or decorative base boxes) that hold heavy weights like concrete blocks or steel plates to counterbalance the umbrella. A mobile base allows you to relocate the umbrella around your yard or poolside as needed, providing a greater degree of flexibility in choosing the location.
Wall-Mount Bracket
Unique to certain cantilever umbrellas, we can mount the umbrella directly to a wall or column using a specialized bracket system. This option saves floor space since the support is attached to a sturdy vertical surface, essentially turning your umbrella into a wall-mounted awning that can open and swivel out when needed. A wall-mounted umbrella gives a very clean look and is perfect for patios where you want to avoid any base on the ground.
